Robert Langdon Peter Solomon Katherine Solomon Mal'akh

The Lost Symbol is the next installment of Dan Brown’s exciting series of about the clues and definitions hidden behind different symbols of the past. The main character Robert Langdon, a Harvard professor and symbologist, is lured to Washington D.C. by the antagonist, Mal’akh to assumingly give a speech. Mal’akh needs Robert to help him decipher the “Ancient Pyramid,” an ancient map that leads only the worthy reader through a maze of clues to find the ancient mysteries. Robert Langdon’s mentor Peter Solomon is a 33rd degree Freemason who has been kidnapped by Mal’akh. Peter, the head of the Smithsonian Institution, is being held as collateral in order to keep Robert’s interest and force him to solve the mystery of the stone pyramid. Katherine Solomon, Peter’s sister, joins Robert in the chase to find the ancient mysteries, but only after Mal’akh infiltrates her noetic science research bunker hidden below the Smithsonian Institution and tries to kidnap her. Katherine and Robert are also trying to avoid being captured by Inoue Sato, the head of the CIA Division known as the “Office of Security,” who claims that Mal’akh’s plan to find the ancient mysteries is a matter of national security.
